The Fundamental Beliefs Held by Ahlul-Hadeeth
Know, may Allaah have mercy on us and you that the Math-hab of Ahlil-Hadeeth, the Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamaa`ah is acknowledgment of Allaah, His Angels, His books and His Messengers, and acceptance of what has been spoken of in the book of Allaah, and what been authenticated from the narrations from the Messenger of Allaah (صلى الله عليه وسلم). There is no alteration of that which has been narrated from him and no room for rejection, since they were ordered with following the Book and Sunnah, and they are content with the guidance in them (the Book and Sunnah)
Al-Zubayr ibn al-‘Awwam had two children, one of whom was present at some of the battles, and the other of whom used to play with the old battle scars on his father’s shoulder. This was reported by ‘Urwah ibn al-Zubayr, who said that the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (Peace & Blessings of Allah be upon Him) said to al-Zubayr on the day of Yarmook, “Will you go and attack, and we will go with you?” He said, “If I attacked, you would be lying.” They said, “No, we will do (as we promised).” So he launched an attack (against the Romans), penetrating their ranks and passing straight through, but no one was with him. Then he turned around and came back, and the Romans seized the reins of his horse and wounded him twice in the shoulder. Between these two new wounds was a scar from a wound he had received at Badr. ‘Urwah said, “When I was little, I used to play by putting my fingers in those scars.” ‘Urwah said, ” ‘Abdullah ibn al-Zubayr was with him on that day. He was ten years old. He (al-Zubayr) put him on a horse and entrusted him to the care of another man.” (Reported by al-Bukhari, 3678).
Commenting on this hadeeth, Ibn Hajr (may Allah have mercy on him) said: “Al-Zubayr felt that his son ‘Abdullah was brave and chivalrous, so he put him on a horse, but he feared that he might attempt to do more than he was able, so he put another man with him so that he could feel that he was safe from the attacks of the Romans should he become distracted by the fighting.”
Ibn al-Mubarak reported from Hishaam ibn ‘Urwah from his father from ‘Abdullah ibn al-Zubayr that he was with his father on the day of Yarmook, and when the mushrikoon ran away, he attacked and started killing their wounded, i.e., he finished off every wounded soldier whom he found. This indicates that he was strong and brave from childhood.
What is the way of solving the Palestinian issue which becomes more
complicated each day?
Praise be to Allaah.
The Muslim is deeply grieved and filled with sorrow as the Palestinian
situation goes from bad to worse, and gets more complicated, until it has
ended up in the state we have seen in recent days, because of differences
among neighboring nations and their failure to stand together as one
against the enemy and their failure to adhere to the rule of Islam on
which Allaah has made victory dependent, and has promised those who
adhere to it that they will gain power and become powerful in the land,
and has warned of grave danger and a severe punishment, if the neighboring
nations do not hasten to unite once more and adhere to the Islamic
ruling concerning this matter, which concerns them and the entire
It is worth pointing out in this context that the Palestinian issue is an Islamic
issue, first and last, but the enemies of Islam are striving their utmost
to remove it from the Islamic map and make the non-Arab Muslims
think that it is an Arab issue that does not concern the non-Arabs. It
seems that they have succeeded in that to some extent.
Hence I think that a solution cannot be reached in this matter unless it is
regarded as an Islamic issue and the Muslims cooperate to find a solution,
and wage an Islamic jihad against the Jews, until the land is given back to
its people and the Jewish immigrants go back to the countries from which
they came, and the original Jewish inhabitants stay in their towns under
Islamic rule, not communist or secular rule. In this manner truth will prevail
and falsehood will be defeated, and the people whose land it is will
return to their land under Islamic rule and none other. And Allaah is the
source of strength.
